Chapter 188 Can We Go Home Now? 2

188 Can We Go Home Now? 2

Compared to the last time she'd seen him in France, she could tell that her son's condition had dramatically improved in a short span of time because of Tang Moyu and her children.

Her guts were telling her that Tianyi was the one who fathered those two little buns, but she couldn't voice out her suspicion until she was certain that Tang Feiyu and Tang Feixiu were truly her grandchildren.

Ah, thinking about it, she never thought that she would be able to witness her arrogant and selfish son willingly settle down and have a family of his own in this lifetime. It seemed like there's still hope.

Tianyi had neither given her any indication that he wanted a family nor a notion that he would eventually plan to have one.

But looking at her son laughing along with her possible grandchildren, Song Huifen felt it's about time he learned to accept that even the devil deserved a happy ending.

Ever since they came back to Shenzhen, Tang Moyu was the only one who managed to convince her son to start his rehabilitation therapy, a feat that even she couldn't achieve.

"Mommy Fen!" She heard Xiao Bao's voice calling after her. The little buns had cutely bestowed her with a new nickname, which she actually found quite endearing.

She was standing near the weeping cherry tree in the empress's garden and turned around to see Tang Feiyu running hurriedly towards her with a smile.

"What is it, little one?" She asked the moment the boy stopped right beside her and looked up at her with his round obsidian eyes.

Song Huifen couldn't help but think that the boy was just too cute, and he reminded her of Tianyi's early years, before he was taken away by her ex-husband.

"Mommy Fen, are you going to join us for dinner? Little Star and I are helping Uncle Ji to cook dinner." The little boy beamed at her with a wide smile.

"Really? Well, if you put it that way, how can Mommy Fen decline your invitation?" She bent forward and slightly pinched Xiao Bao's plump cheek.

It was surprising how Tang Moyu managed to raise these cute buns alone for the past four years, considering how busy she was at work. Even she herself had a hard time balancing her work and looking after her son when Tianyi was younger.

Song Huifen allowed the little boy to drag her back to the guest house, where everyone was busy conversing and waiting for the dinner to be ready.

From outside, she spotted her son working in the kitchen with Tang Moyu and Song Fengyan, laughing at something Little Star had said to Gu Yuyao and Li Meili.

Song Huifen, as a mother, was glad to see her son like this. Slowly, her son was opening up to other people, allowing himself to recover and heal willingly.

She hoped that this atmosphere would stay like this through her son's journey to recovery. She truly wished for him to be able to live his life to the fullest. No loving mother wanted to see their child wither away. It was hard for her to see Tianyi being alone for the past five years, shutting others out, not allowing anyone to stay by his side.

She stepped outside the guest house and leaned by the pillar of the porch. Tang Moyu's place wasn't as grand as the home she had here, in Shenzhen, but it was very homey and comfortable, and was large enough to accommodate the empress's guests.

"Lady Song, what are you doing here all alone?" Tang Moyu appeared behind her and joined her at the porch. The area was a perfect spot for a view of the garden, which had come to life since Feng Tianyi's arrival.

"Just thinking," Song Huifen shrugged. "It felt like it's been a long time since I saw Tianyi this happy. I thank you for that, Miss Tang." She owed this to the empress.

"But I haven't done anything, Lady Song." Tang Moyu drew her brows together in confusion. She wasn't sure what Feng Tianyi's mother was thinking about at the moment.

Initially, she was nervous that his mother would look down on her, considering she was Feng Tianhua's fiancee before. But the empress dowager didn't show any indication that she was bothered with her son being involved with Tang Moyu.

"Don't sell yourself short, Miss Tang. You know better than anyone how much my son adores you." Song Huifen chuckled.

"As for why you haven't acknowledged it yet, I truly understand. My son… he might be a handful at times, but he's a decent person. He might get under your skin most of the time, but I hope you'll be able to see past his arrogance and help him to become a better version of himself,"

"I don't know, Lady Song… I'm…" Tang Moyu's words trailed off. She wasn't sure herself.

"Miss Tang, do you know what's the most important asset for businessmen like us?" Song Huifen suddenly asked.

"Our instincts." The empress replied. She'd learn this a long time ago.

"Yes, that's right and you have to trust yours, Miss Tang. If ever it fails you, consider it as a great lesson learnt from experience. Don't overthink. That's like creating problems that aren't there in the first place. Whatever you and my son are having right now… live in the moment and don't allow overthinking to kill your happiness."

Tang Moyu broke their eye contact. It was like Song Huifen could read what was on her mind.

"You know what they say? Ruminating can halt someone from progressing and moving forward. So why allow yourself to dwell in the past? It steals the beauty of the moment and it spoils your future."
