Chapter 715 Teaching a lesson
715 Teaching a lesson
"You have some nerve falling sick like this." Ian reprimanded him and glowered over the man who was drinking soup slowly. From his actions, it seemed he did not care about anything in the world and Ian's annoyance increased all the more.
"Do you hear me? I am talking to you." He poked at the man's biceps and Noah just glanced at him before he returned his soup.
"You are un-fucking-believable." Ian gnashed his teeth and plopped heavily on the chair before the bed.
Ian had reached the hospital even before the sun had risen. His concern for his friend had rendered him sleepless and anxious. But to his dismay, his friend in question gave no regard to his question and ignored him as if he was air.
"Don't you dare fall sick again and even if you do, don't come to me. I will not treat you." He threatened and finally, his words worked.
Noah dropped the spoon and focused his attention on the doctor, who had gone bonkers the moment he had entered the ward. "You do not have to worry about it. My girlfriend is a doctor. I will go to her if I fall sick."
"Oh, spare me please. I do not want to get involved in your childish bickering. You handle on your own." Aria pulled out of the conversation she was not even a part of and Ian gave him a provocative glance.
"See, Aria is on my side. You cannot do anything about it now."
"I don't think that was what her words meant. She never said she was on your side." Noah corrected and Ian gritted his teeth in fury.
"Even if she did not say the actual words, it means the same and I am sure Aria too feels the same way. I am certain about it." "Is it, Aria?" Noah raised a brow at her and Aria rolled her eyes in dismay.
'Do the guys not know the meaning of the don't pull me into this stupid conversation?' She scolded the two men who were acting like children before her. 'How troublesome!!' n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
But she understood Ian's sentiments and she agreed with him wholeheartedly. So, without any delay or hesitation, she walked to the men who were waiting for her response and stood beside Ian's chair as she stared at the only patient in the ward.
"I am with Ian on this. And nothing you say or do will change my decision." Her response was strong and fixed, not giving Noah any room for complaints and now, it was Ian's turn to smile smugly.
"See, Aria knows whom to support. You cocky asshole." Ian spat and Noah picked up his spoon again as he continued drinking the soup, ignoring the two doctors who were being melodramatic before him.
"He is ignoring us again, Aria. I'm sick and tired of this man." Ian grumbled and raised his hands in frustration.
"Oh, don't worry. The more he behaves like this, the more he will get from me the moment he is discharged from here." Aria folded her hands and gave Noah a look that had him panicking from within.
"Oh, what are you going to do?" Ian's tone was filled with interest and he glanced back and forth between the couple in wonder.
"That's a secret." Aria winked at Ian, who understood her intentions right away. "Let him be as cocky as he wants. I will have my time too and then, and he will surely suffer. Don't worry."
"Great. Serves him right." Ian nodded in joy, envisioning Noah's situation once he was discharged from the hospital.
"Since Joshua is not here, are you taking his place? When did you become so irritating and crazy?" Noah seethed, not at all liking how the situation was turning out to be. It was highly unfavorable for him and the man responsible for it was grinning at him in joy. 'Somehow, I had pacified Aria. He just had to come here and ruin everything. How infuriating!!'
"I know you are cursing me in your mind and I don't care." Ian read Noah's expressions brilliantly and he remarked with a smile, one that did not reach his eyes. "As your friend and doctor, I must ensure that you are fine, especially when you want to protect all of us."
This got Noah's attention and he stared at Ian, who had suddenly turned super serious.
"Since you are going to protect us, I take it upon myself to prevent you at least from falling sick or getting any disease and you are not helping by showing me an attitude." Ian gave him a look that told how hurt he was and Noah felt a pang in his heart for not giving him much consideration when all he had in mind was his well-being.
"Look..." Just as Noah was about to apologize for his behavior, the door opened and Joshua entered.
"Rise and shine, sleepy heads." His tone was filled with excitement, and Ian huffed in exasperation. 'I had just got Noah to realize his mistake. Why did this joker have to come at this time?' He yelled in his mind but did not show his emotions on his face as he controlled himself from lashing out.
"I see that you are well and kicking. That's great to see." Joshua looked back and forth between the three people when he did not receive any response from them and blinked in confusion.
"What did I miss? Why do you guys look so tensed?"
"Nothing. We were just teaching Noah a lesson..."
"And I interrupted it." Joshua finished Aria's words and his eyes gleamed in excitement.
"Continue, continue. Let me join you guys in teaching him a lesson too. I don't get this chance every day, you know." Joshua rubbed his palms as though he was preparing for a fight and Aria stifled a laugh when she saw Noah's 'I'm done with this world expression'.
"What? Why did you guys stop?"
"Leave that matter aside. Did you find out anything notable? You look haggard and tired." Ian changed the topic before Noah exploded in annoyance. The man's face had turned dark and it would not be soon before Joshua faced his wrath if he continued spouting nonsense.
"Oh yes, I did. This great being found a lot of things and I am sure you will be astonished and spooked by me."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes. I found the most important thing we were looking for."
"And what might that be?" Ian's voiced the question that everyone had in mind when Joshua paused dramatically.
"I found Theo's contact details."
