Chapter 285 Idiot

Looking at how terrible the first match had been, all of the contestants were smiling except for Marsh City’s representatives.

“Hehe. This is good. The representatives from Marsh City are incapacitated and there’s no chance for them to win. The other side forfeited the match and preserved two of their members in perfect condition, but their other three members were hurt, too. Looks like the match tomorrow will be in our favor,” one of Lode City’s representatives, Shen Yi, excitedly exclaimed. At first, she had thought that the representatives from Marsh City were hiding something, but based on the situation right now, even if they were hiding something it would be useless. There was no way they’d send just one person to fight against the rest tomorrow. 

What a joke.

The following matches were fairly spectacular, too, as if they were influenced by the first match. Most of them fought fiercely, but without using their full strength, as they didn’t want to lose. They used at most eighty percent of their strength.

It was finally the last match. The arena’s terrain had changed into a desert that would reduce the speed of the fighters. The first person to step up was Lu Shiyu. 

The moment she entered the arena she captured everyone’s attention; she was holding a scythe in her arms like a war goddess from legend. Her figure was alluring, especially her long pink hair which attracted everyone’s gaze.

“Young lady! The battle might scar your delicate skin! You should just forfeit!” her opponent jeered at her like a pig, much to the disdain of the crowd.

“Hey! Look out!” his teammate suddenly shouted as he lowered his guard.

Lu Shiyu had appeared in front of him in an instant with her scythe raised. Her steps were fleet and quick, which would only be possible if she were tier three, five-star and above. No one knew her true current strength.

Her opponent finally reacted to Lu Shiyu appearing in front of him thanks to the warning from his teammate. He instinctively released his strength as a tier three, one star martial artist, but it was no use against Lu Shiyu. He was obliterated.

A single strike was all it had taken for Lu Shiyu to defeat him.

“And here I thought you would be strong.” Lu Shiyu waved her scythe and left the arena. Everyone was shocked. With her strength, she could have easily fought another two rounds.

‘Pig guy’ was mad when he saw the contempt on Lu Shiyu’s face. He was embarrassed!

As for the next two matches, Xiang Ning’s team easily won against their opponents. To think that the team everyone thought would lose had so easily won instead.

Within the corridor for the participants, Xiang Ning and the rest were blocked by the reporters. He sighed, “We came from a small city, we aren’t as strong as you think. We just won by coincidence.”

“But your second team paid a terrible price to win today. Do you think they have a chance tomorrow?”

“I think they’ll be the only team capable of winning tomorrow and obtaining the spot to advance into the next stage.” Xiang Ning smiled as the reporters were stunned by what he said. “But… Lode City, which is second only to Heavenly Star City, is also participating in their block tomorrow. Their productivity was so high that their news was published in less than twenty minutes. The internet once again exploded with comments. 

“So what if they won? They’re too cocky!”

Xiang Ning and the rest didn’t know what to say.

“Wu Rui, is everyone alright?” Xiang Ning coughed and interrupted them both.

Wu Rui rubbed his chin in contemplation. “No big deal. He should be fine after he rests for three days. There’s no way he can fight tomorrow, but the other three can. Still, there’s no reason for them to fight tomorrow.”

“Sure. I’m envious of you.”

“Hahaha! To think I’d get to fight ten people in a row.” Wu Rui was happy he could punch them like sandbags.

“Careful not to lose.” Xiang Ning laughed too.

“Relax, before I win against you I won’t lose to anyone else,” Wu Rui proudly proclaimed. His confidence had inspired everyone else.

Lei Zhongyuan finally came over. “It’s a risky move. We should have some insurance. Wu Rui thanked him and let the other four members of his team drink it.
