Chapter 207: Living with a man? Not bad~
"Why did it take so long for you to open the door?" Grandma Mo was dissatisfied with that. She had been knocking on the door again and again for nearly fifteen minutes yet there was no response at all.
Grandpa Mo patted her shoulder, trying to soothe her anger "Alright, alright, she must be busy at work."
He could not understand what was up with his wife these days. Any little thing could make her lose her calm.
What he did not know was that the old lady liked everything in her control. But as things went out of her hand, she was more and more frustrated with that.
"Eh...Father..mother, you're still standing outside?" Su Yahui looked at the trio as she walked towards them with a few paper bags in her hand. She passed it to Mo Jia, "Look at how skinny you are. Here, I personally.."
Mo Jia looked at the woman weirdly. Will her mom say that she personally prepared the food? The kind of cook she was, who will want to eat it if they don't want food poisoning?
The woman flipped her silky hair as she harrumphed, "What are you looking at, girl? Has your mother gotten beautiful overnight? Anyways...What I wanted to say was I personally instructed the chef to cook your favorite breakfast."
Mo Jia remained expressionless.
Su Yahui stretched her cheeks hard, "What's up with this poker face of yours?"
As a mother, she wondered what she ate to have the Mo siblings as her children. One was a more weird specimen than the other.
Grandma Mo frowned the moment she stepped inside the living room. Her eyes widening in astonishment, "Jia'er, you"
"What happened?" As Grandpa Mo's gaze followed hers, he too froze.
Su Yahui curiously peeked inside while Mo Jia walked towards them. She glanced at Tang Yichen's shoes. No wonder, they had such a big reaction.
"You're living with a man?!" Grandma Mo was exasperated at that moment. The grandchild she had pampered the most has always been Mo Jia, she had certain expectations from her yet in the end she did something like that? Living with a man without marriage? She did not understand such a ridiculous concept!
The old lady, although, doted on Mo Jia but that had all been like that because Mo Jia was the ideal granddaughter in her eyes. She did whatever she was told to do, always playing along with the rules. If she had been a rebellious child, then the whole thing might have been a bit different. Grandma Mo never cared about where her granddaughter's happiness lied, she just had always been persistent about her expectations being fulfilled, to her, nothing else truly mattered.
"You're living with a man? Not bad~" Su Yahui on the other hand, had a completely different expression. She looked at Mo Jia with sparkling eyes. This year was especially lucky for her as all her dumb headed children were finally showing signs of growing up. That stupid son got her a daughter-in-law and here she was on the verge of getting a son-in-law too. What a lucky time, indeed!
Grandpa Mo was nonchalant about the whole situation whereas Grandma Mo glared at Su Yahui, "Why are you so happy with the fact that your unmarried daughter is living with a man? Have you considered the Mo Family's face? Have you imagined what people would say when they come to know that the young miss of Mo Family is fooling around with a man?"
"Come on, mother! Stop being so troublesome," Su Yahui waved her hands, the bright smile never leaving her face as she continued, "We just have to cut their tongues off, then who will be brave enough to slander, it is as simple as that, isn't it?"
Grandpa Mo simply choked on air. This daughter-in-law of his was rather...violent. No wonder Mo Yuhan turned out to be an iceberg.
Grandma Mo pursed her lips. Of course, she was well aware of Su Yahui's ways. The childish woman who smiled all day long at home becomes the real Madam Mo the moment she steps out of residence, cold and sinister.
She ignored the woman since even she couldn't deal with her wilfulness. She glared at Mo Jia, "Are you mute? Can't you answer my question? What the heck is this all about?" She trembled with rage as she leaned on the wall trying to support her body.
Mo Jia expressionlessly glanced at her. At this moment, she realized that the moment something goes wrong or something did not happen as per the norms, the grandmother that used to dote on her could simply become a person like this, reprimanding her endlessly.
"Alright...since you can't give me a proper answer...Get this straight that you must leave this man. You're moving into Mo Manor right now. No one will talk about what happened here today, you will marry the man I want you to, do you get it?" The old lady did not bother to ask for her opinions as she declared her orders.
"I'm married to him," Mo Jia spoke up, "So it's only right for me to live with him."
"_" Marry?!
The trio's jaws dropped in disbelief.
Grandpa Mo composed himself as he glanced at his granddaughter, "Did you just say you got married?" he asked. It was rather unbelievable for him to believe that his granddaughter, the one who used to isolate herself from everything, got married as per her own wish.
"En.."
"Hahaha Finally, my other grandchild got married," The old man's eyes twinkled with mischief. He was going to brag about this to Old man Tang. After a few years, he is going to have more great-grandkids than him, after all.
Su Yahui stroked Mo Jia's hair, "What a nice girl...So considerate, got your mother a son-in-law," The happiness of having Tang Li as her daughter-in-law had yet to fade that she got a son-in-law at that.
Grandma Mo looked at them in disbelief as she yelled, "Have you forgotten about the ancestral rings?" The mention of it reminding Grandpa Mo of that matter as he frowned. "Mo Jia, you must marry the man I want you to. Either you do it on your own accord, or I don't mind using other methods..."
"I'll see who forces my wife to do something" Tang Yichen said as he walked out of his room.
The moment Mo Jia woke up to open the door, he laid down in the bed for some time, feeling his newfound laziness before he got up from the bed and walked into the bathroom. The moment he was about to walk out of the room, he overheard their conversation, coming up to a conclusion as to why Mo Jia wanted to get married all of a sudden.
He was well aware that there must be something like this that forced her to take such an impulsive decision but he did not ask her to clarify it, giving her the privacy she needed.
Moreover, even if she was being reprimanded, he did not rush out to defend her as he was well aware she would not want him to do so. But his self-control snapped when the old lady tried to coerce Mo Jia into accepting her decision. Without thinking twice, he came forward to back her up.
"Do you even know who we are? Who do you think you are to be able to stop the Mo Family from doing something?" Grandma Mo had her back facing towards the man so she did not bother to hide the disgust in her tone for him. She did not even bother to look at him as according to her, it degraded her status to look at people who were unworthy of her attention.
"You...you..are..?!" Grandpa Mo was stunned as he looked at the man.
Grandma Mo, confused by her husband's reaction, turned around to look at him. Her gaze traveled towards the man leaning against the door of the bedroom.
"You...You
Su Yahui furrowed her brows. Her son-in-law was rather handsome but do they need to be so speechless the moment they saw him? Ah, these oldies!
The mother-daughter exchanged glances confused by what was going on
"What you mean to say is that he is one you gave the ancestral rings to?" Su Yahui looked at Grandma Mo in disbelief as the old lady nodded.
"Yes, he is the one who helped me at the airport that day..." She did not forget the man who had left such a lasting impression on her. After that day, she had investigated a lot about him only to conclude that he was the CEO of Blue stars entertainment, who ruled on the entertainment industry.
She was certainly taken aback to know that a person with such a background would be so humble and kind to help her in the airport, his identity further strengthened her resolve to make Mo Jia marry him. As for his family background, the old lady investigated a lot about it only to fail in acquiring any information.
