Chapter 48 Ancient Dragon Of The Heavens
As soon as the smoke from the explosion cleared away, a voice suddenly spoke up.
"You can see me…"
The white-haired boy smiled as he realized that Elyon was indeed around them. He couldn't see him but judging from the view being displayed on the forums, he was somewhere high up.
So if Elyon was recording the entire thing from the sky, it was obvious that he would float above them.
But Zack didn't reply to the number two player's question since he didn't really know where Elyon was. He had just made a wild guess that he would most probably be above him and Emma.
He had then spread the blue flames in such a way that they would cover most of the area above his head and would force Elyon to reveal his location.
And that's what had happened when the number two player had used his skill to subdue the blue flames.
"Spirit Spear Chastiefol, second form, Daggers of Sky." The white-haired boy muttered under his breath as the hundred and fifty daggers suddenly appeared above him.
He then spread them across the place with a grin before launching them towards the sky.
This was the perfect move since Elyon would have no chance to run away. But the number two player also had a few tricks up his sleeves.
"Tianlong!" The same voice from earlier shouted as a roar was suddenly heard.
From the sky, a golden-colored Chinese dragon was descending from the sky towards the teenager. Zack could easily recognize who the dragon was yet he couldn't help but sigh when he used his inspection skill.
[ Tianlong (Legendary) (???): ??? ]
He could see the dragon's name and rank though all of the other information was hidden. The teenager however knew a lot about the dragon than anyone else in his current life.
Tianlong, the ancient dragon of the heavens.
He was the protector of the heavenly realm and only those judged worthy by him were allowed to enter the heavenly realm.
Otherwise, their souls would float between the mortal realm and the heavenly until they were dragged down to hell.
The dragon's background made it fearsome but its growth potential was almost infinite. He was one of the strongest beasts in the entire game but if it managed to gain a strong partner early on, he was indestructible.
The golden dragon descending from the sky however looked like a baby version of the original. It was barely 7 feet long while its scales didn't have the shiny powerful-looking appearance in them.
It was because the dragon had recently hatched out and was not powerful enough.
"You are not thinking about killing that dragon, are you?" WolfHeart asked while raising her eyebrows as the white-haired boy shook his head.
As much as he wanted to defeat the dragon while it was still weak, he knew that he couldn't do that.
Tianlong had a special ability that lasted till he was a fully-grown dragon. The ability was known as the 'guardian's right'.
Till the time the dragon had that ability, anyone taking a step towards him or his owner with the attention of killing or hurting them would be killed on the spot.
This ability could not be nerfed no matter how much the players had complained about it in Zack's previous life.
The person who was Tianlong's partner at that time had replied "you didn't partner him when you had the opportunity."
This was partially true since he had become Tianlong's partner during a special quest which all the players had access to.
'But what will replace that quest this time?' Zack thought with a grim expression as he looked at the golden dragon.
The only reason Elyon had summoned him was because the number two player knew that there was no way he could defeat Zack who had many powerful weapons helping him.
He would instead retreat to a safe location and give the latest information to his boss.
The white-haired boy could do nothing but sigh as he saw the dragon stopping mid-air before flying away. He changed Chastiefol back to its original form and let the spear float behind him.
He then looked at Emma who had been watching everything with an interested gaze while wondering why didn't Zack attack the dragon.
"Because that dragon had an ability that would have instantly killed me the moments I would have made the daggers go near him or his partner." The white-haired boy replied with a sigh as he decided to go back to their guild.
The capital was quite far from the location of the Echo bat dungeon which meant that there was only a single being who could take them to the guild quickly.
"Spirit Spear Chastiefol, seventh form, Guardian," Zack spoke with a bored expression as he wondered how long it would take for him to silently change the forms of the spear.
Speaking its name and form every time was annoying and took way longer than it should.
'I am currently busy. I will send some of my underlings to help you. They are only bottom feeders so don't worry much.' The Phoenix replied back through telepathy as the duo saw two eagles the size of a car circling above their heads.
[ Scam eagles (Level 90): The two eagles are brothers who were normal eagles until they found out that the best way to scam humans was to put statues of themselves in a few temples.
From there onwards, they were worshiped like powerful companions of gods and started gaining fame. They then got numerous donations and other things in their names and became the first two birds to scam humans
Now they are legendary figures that represent how easy it is to scam humans. ]
The name and the level of the two eagles were enough for the duo to spit their blood.
According to the Phoenix, the birds were bottom feeders. If they were this powerful, Zack could no longer imagine the actual level of power that the mythical bird had.
'Perhaps he could rival Tianlong in power.' Zack thought before he looked at the two birds with narrowed eyes.
The description of the two birds was even worse than their names. But the strange thing was that what they said was true.
[ Their names are scam eagles so I wonder if they will try to scam us since we are humans. ] Emma suddenly sent a private message as the white-haired boy shrugged.
This was the first time he had heard about scam eagles and he had played Hikari for years. This meant that they were special creatures that even he didn't know much about.
And because of that, there was a chance that he would get scammed.
'Humans huh. It's been so long since we saw your kind.' A voice appeared inside the duo's mind as the eagle on the right talked to them using telepathy.
The eagle sounded like a professional scammer for some reason or perhaps their names had made the duo wary of the overgrown birds.
'Don't give us that look, guys. We are here on the boss's orders so we won't show any of our tricks here.' The eagle on the left realized that the two humans knew their names. It clicked its tongue before giving his brother a glance.
'You thinking what I am thing?' The other eagle asked through telepathy while the former nodded.
'Let's take them and we will scam them halfway through our journey. We'll just give the boss the usual things when he gets angry.' The former eagle replied as the two brothers grinned.
Little did they know that they were the ones who were about to be scammed.
