Chapter 59 Reasons

[ Iblis Pov ]

Iblis of the Hanson family, The family name 'Hanson,' holds a powerful and prestigious place as a top family worldwide, specifically in the UK.

Founded by Frank Hanson in London in the 1900s, today Hanson Inc. also includes Ether and pet care brand ForeverPets, acquired in the 1990s.

Kester Hanson, the grandfather of Iblis, was made an honorary knight by Queen Elizabeth, while his wife Jacqueline is an active supporter of the UK Olympic Equestrian Team.

They're the heirs to the candy throne that is Hanson Inc., maker of CandyLand Express, All Sweet, Sweets and Treats, The Antidote, Confetti Candy Shop, etc., and more – not to mention a broader portfolio that includes pet care products, drinks, and gum.

The century-old company has helped the Hanson family build a reported fortune of US$94 billion, according to the Institute for Policy Studies' "Silver Spoon Oligarchs" report. It makes them UK's third-richest family dynasty, per the report, which examined Forbes' inaugural ranking of the UK's wealthiest clans.

Press-shy and limelight-avoidant, the Hanson family, remains a bit of a mystery. They've been known to keep the company "notoriously private," according to Business Insider, while The Guardian has called their headquarters "anonymous."

During the Great Depression, Frank and his wife Ethel became "social luminaries." They owned a US$20,000 Duesenberg town car and had two getaway homes in London and Sussex.

They made the first chocolate nougat, setting the foundation for CandyLand Express and All sweet.

More than 400 million All Sweets are produced around the world every day.

Hanson's prominent position in pet food began with the 1934 acquisition of a British dog-food firm, Petfood Bros. Today, Mars is a dominant force in both pet food and veterinary medicine as the owner of major food brands and the most prominent private American chains of veterinary hospitals.

Being born into such a powerful family came with varied problems. People often say that money can buy happiness, but too much of anything harm you. It is especially tragic with her family situation. My father is always absent from my life and pays little attention to her.

My mother has been comatose since birth; she has been like that because of an accident. I have asked my father and other family members about it, but they never tell me anything. Kester, my father, has hidden.

I still have my grandparent, which I am grateful for; they often tell me about my lost brother. I had a brother and saw his pictures but never knew what had happened to him. They never answer my question, saying I am still a child, but I wish to learn and hurt than not know, which hurts more.

Sometimes, I wish my mother was here because these questions are literally eating me alive.

All my supposed 'friends' are with me for my money, looks, and status.

They are entirely different when I am with them, asking for a payout and complaining in the back, calling me selfish. Selfish? How is the selfish one? It always baffled me to interact with such people, but I put up a facade to avoid unnecessary troubles. Doing so, I became just like them, a two-faced person.

I loved my father, but sometimes he was very controlling of my life. He has already decided on my fiance, which I am totally appalled by. I am only fifteen and wanted to enjoy my life more before deciding on my partner. Like many girls my age, I dreamed of prince charming, but those will only be dreams. Even with all the money in the world, I can't have control of my life which makes me sick in the stomach. Another thing I am sick of is my fiance.

Jack, my fiance, hailed from one of my father's supporters. He also has a two-face personality, kind in front of others but hiding his vicious self underneath. He constantly tries to control my circle of friends and keep those he deems 'dangerous' out of my life. He thinks I don't know his shenanigans, but I am well aware. He is good-looking, and people get sucked into promises of gain and favors, which he uses to control them. He is what you will call a attention-whore, and I hate him to the core.

But I have seen my father since childhood. He is suffering too but always keeps his emotions in check, never letting me see them, but He is my father; I could just tell by looking at him. I have already resigned to my fate and accepted the inevitable.

Adele is my first friend who doesn't know much about me. I consider her a true friend as she doesn't care about my family background and sees me for who I am. She is such a cute girl, and I genuinely consider her a little sister, which is why I want to protect her.

When I first met Samuel, her friend, I saw Jack in him. To be more specific, he is much more than him. Perfect looks, and from the eyes of his relative, he is definitely from a big family. With such a background, he is bound to be much worse than Jack. He acted cordially and all sweet on the outside, but I know that is just a facade. How can a person so perfect have no flaws? How can he not be condescending and manipulative? Can you find exceptions this easily?

Seeing and interacting with Samuel, my heart told me--he is different, but my experiences beg to differ. Adele's family is not well off, so she clearly doesn't understand, but I will make her know it sooner or later.

I will expose him and let Adele see for herself. I have made up my mind.

Meanwhile, in the Rothschilds estate.

Oscar heard the name Hanson during his visit and became alert. He is all too familiar with that family and decided to investigate. He met up with David later at night to discuss.

They are good friends and often drink together. Despite being from a different social hierarchy, David never cared about much, which made them much closer over the years. Both of them are kind of a loner and got along well.

"I missed these moments. We never meet up like this anymore since Samuel came home." Oscar said. It was a regular occurrence, but recently they put it all to a halt.

"Yes, I was thinking about the same thing but it is good that you invited me today." David said.

"Well, If I am being honest, I have an ulterior motive for inviting you. "Oscar said.

"What? Man, I told you countless time that I like women. When will you understand? "David teased.

"What the hell man! not this again. I also like women." Oscar sighed. He is very familiar with this scenario.

"Women? I have never seen you with a women in my entire life. Its been what ten years. freaking TEN Years? "David said in a loud voice.

Oscar knew that David was only concerned about his well-being, but sometimes, It can be annoying. This guy is too nosy when it comes to his love life.

"I am not arguing with you today. I want you to do something, kind of like a favor. "Oscar said seriously, which made David pay attention.

"You know I will never say no to that. What do you want? Want me to set you up on a blind date? "David said, still being in his fun mode.

"What? Hell no. I want you to look into 'Iblis Hanson'. Find out all you could about it without alerting them or our family. I want you to keep it a secret. "Oscar said.

"Hanson? Those Hansons. Did you meet someone from that family? You know what happened in the past. "David finally became serious and replied with some worry.

"Hmm, keep it to yourself for now. It is all in the past. We don't want it to ruin the peace. Thanks, "Oscar said, even with David agreeing to anything. He knew David would agree and skipped over the formalities.

"Sigh. Okay, I will look into it. "David has to agree to see Oscar all serious. They began to enjoy the gathering and get into drinking.

"I guess it is fate." Oscar thought.
