The Yuyu Kingdom was large.

It wasn't necessary to visit the capital to pay tributes, so Kyoya and Rosa chose the closest city for their trip. This didn't mean the road was short as they had to move their legs for around four hours.

It was a nice time for talk and bonding, but the whole city was frozen in ice flames upon their arrival. As it was clear that the pleasant time ended, Kyoya took out his knife from pocket to not expose his inventory abilities.

He also didn't use any spatial treasures as these were rare for adventurers on his level. Only those with special origins had those, so Kyoya and Rosa were pushing the carriage with their loot to the city.

Now, their goal was to protect the carriage, but Kyoya was the only one fighting.

"As promised, you won't fight, Rosa."

Kyoya wouldn't break his promises unless necessary. If the situation was life-threatening, then Kyoya would ask Rosa to fight, but he was also secretly believing that she would move on her own.

That was why he reminded her about this, then looked around the vicinity.

"Let me clarify something, the husband."

Rosa spoke with her blue eyes looking at him with slight annoyance.

"I have been annoyed lately, so killing might be exactly the cure to my mood."

She then took out her lightning sword that let out small lightning snakes upon arrival. Then, Rosa added her help for the husband to find any suspicious activities in the vicinity, but they were in the outskirts that seemed deserted.

As it got confirmed that the surroundings were clear, Kyoya turned to Rosa with a smile.

"I might get closer to the royalty by helping them with this crisis."

"Obviously."

"But I also want to support you, so let's go."

When Kyoya turned around, Rosa's smile deepened as she followed him. They hid all their stuff in the spatial treasures which were Rosa's special earrings and Kyoya's inventory, then headed into the city.

Their steps were cautious with instincts sharpened.

The whole city's assault could mean many things, but first and foremost, many deaths came with it. Kyoya wanted to get some contribution to create connection with the royal family. Then, they would be the ones to reach out to him.

Only if their kingdom truly were to get many problems from the ice flame people, though!

Once inside, Kyoya and Rosa found themselves in the ice kingdom. The blue flames were already long gone here, but their forms left a lot of ice around. White houses with icicles were the common sight.

Furthermore, the coldness was used in a way to insult the Yuyu Kingdom. Its beautiful red flame design around the houses and streets was turned blue and white as if the new owners already spread their culture here.

"Just the fact that we entered the city smoothly means their goal was not to take over it."

"Yes."

Kyoya agreed with Rosa's words, then brought himself slowly to the blue flames that could be seen outside the city. Those flames were in the middle of the city where the most important tasks were done by people working for royalty.

The mansion here was turned into one blue flame pillar!

"I feel people inside."

There was no one around the city and Kyoya couldn't just peek into the houses due to the coldness' layer around it. The blue pillar made from the ice flames was also kinda loud, so one could only use one's senses to find someone.

Kyoya did it by using his good eyesight, senses and minimap all in one!

His friend agreed with him, then both of them came closer to the blue pillar.

"I can manage to stay close to it, but what about you, Rosa?"

The husband had Ice Divine's blessing, so he was feeling fine close to the blue flame pillar. It was a great present from the old man, but it was also a pity that Kyoya couldn't really share it with his friend.

As he asked, Kyoya looked at Rosa whose body was shivering slightly.

She was dealing with the coldness by using her lightning that scratched her skin, but it was not enough.

"I am fine, the husband. Instead, we should think of solving this issue, don't you think so?"

"You don't have to act cool, Rosa. As I said earlier, we are equal now."

"I am not acting cool, but feeling cool, get it?"

As Kyoya wanted to save people inside the blue pillar not only for benefits, but also to get a nice smile out of Xiaoxiao, Kyoya began to think about his cards. He had sealing power, but then he realized that his cards had connection powers.

Didn't it mean that his ice resistance could be connected and shared with others?

"I want to try something new, Rosa."

"Something that would allow us to go through it?"

"Yes. You will also get rid of the coldness."

Kyoya didn't wait for an answer as he felt like Rosa would agree with him. As he took his usual card, Rosa just extended her arm knowing that he wanted to do something with it. When her slender arm got grabbed by the husband, Rosa felt the card touching her. It was an unusual feeling that was the first.

Then, her eyes began to shift from the husband to the card as some golden-red color began to go around her arm!

"Your power is really unusual, but fun."

It felt like the husband was doing everything in his disposal to get closer to women! Of course, it wasn't like that, but Rosa chuckled as it was indeed fun to see him interact with others and just do his best.

However, the surprise had yet to come.

When Kyoya did his best to utilize his powers, it was the first time he was trying to connect his powers between another party that wasn't really 'player' nor someone too close with him. Nonetheless, Rosa was a good friend, so the husband did his best.

And so he went overboard.

Rosa wasn't a player, but she got some game features from the husband to have the adventure more fun!

Now, it was something more than fun.

It was solely because Kyoya not only connected his ice resistance, but his whole self.

It meant that his thoughts and feelings were passed to Rosa. On the other hand, he didn't get anything back as it wasn't his purpose.

"Husband…"

"Hmm?"

This caused Rosa to sound different as well.

"I wonder where did you get such strong ice resistance from?"

She asked to change the topic yet again. Kyoya, who had seen it many times, could tell it on the spot and so he smiled. Then, an awkward smile spread on his face as he couldn't possibly tell that he got it from the god and his quest.

"A nice old man passed it to me… It's temporary…"

"..."

"Rosa?"

"N-nothing… It's nothing…"

If Kyoya was a little faster, then he would see Rosa looking at him with her mouth so widely opened it looked sick. But the news that his inward thoughts told Rosa would make everyone from the world pillar go wide like that.

She also got another portion of his feelings and it was the husband genuinely not wanting to lie to Rosa which was sweet.

So sweet that it was what lingered on her mind instead of Ice Divine.
