Chapter 54 - Oracle
Chapter 54 - Oracle
"I was a princess of the Bloodmoon Kingdom, ruled by the Bloodmoon family. When the war between humans and vampires raged on..." Sirena began her story, crossing her legs on the bed. But Bong interrupted her.
"I know about the war stuff, you can skip the whole vampire vs. human war arc," Bong said with a wave of his hand.
"Cough, cough. As you wish, Master," Sirena replied with a nod, understanding Bong's desire to skip certain parts of her story.
She began to narrate the story, skimming over the Vampire and Human conflict. In the wake of the Vampire defeat, the royal bloodline of our kingdom embarked on a quest to save our race and preserve our legacy. There was a pressing need to identify the traitor among us who had betrayed our secrets, leading to our defeat. The various Vampire-ruled Kingdoms united under the banner of Draegon Bloodlord, a formidable Ancient Vampire and the firstborn of the Mother of Vampires.
However, the treacherous schemes of humans led to Draegon's demise. Following his death, the surviving Vampires scattered, pursued relentlessly by humans who had become known as Vampire Hunters. These hunters were once trained by the Kithage Empire, possessing extensive knowledge of Vampire combat and the deep secrets of our kind. They struck terror into the hearts of Vampires wherever they roamed.
After the slaughter of the remaining Vampires, only a handful of five Vampires were left, and among them was Seraphina. They concealed their identities behind masks, bound by a sacred blood oath that forbade them from revealing their secrets to anyone except the one destined to save them.
Upon receiving information from the Oracle about their future and the identity of their savior, they were initially elated. However, their joy turned to sorrow when they discovered that Vampire hunters were tracking them, patiently waiting for the moment when all the remaining royal bloodline would gather in one place. She swiftly gave the command for everyone to scatter and flee. While standing there to stop the Vampire hunters alone. "No, we will not flee. We shall stand and fight together," Declared the Vampire in the red mask.
"Indeed, we are in unanimous agreement. We cannot leave you to face this alone when our race teeters on the brink of extinction. Not a single one of us shall be left behind," asserted the Vampire wearing the black mask.
"You are all so kind, but there's no need. I can handle this on my own," Sirena chuckled softly.
As she sought to protect her companions, Sirena fired a shot from her twin silver guns at the dungeon's roof, causing it to quake and rocks to tumble, creating a barrier between her and the rest of the team.
"Think this rock barrier can stop us?" Proclaimed the Vampire in the red mask.
"I doubt it, but how about this?" Sirena fired another shot from her twin silver guns, conjuring a wall of blood - a formidable barrier that would hold them at bay for a considerable time.
"Now, please, run, I don't want to witness any more losses. Hide until the day we can rise again." Sirena pleaded with a hint of sorrow in her eyes.
"You know, guys, I think we should run and hide," Suggested the Vampire with the mask split between black and white.
"How can you even suggest that? Are you a coward?" Retorted the Vampire in the red mask.
"No, but think for a second. If we all die here, what will happen? We are the last five, and every lord sacrificed themselves so that we could survive. But now, only we five remain. If we all die here, how can we fulfill the prophecy? Don't you want to witness the rise of the vampires with your own eyes?" Pleaded the Vampire with the half-black, half-white mask.
"Agghh... tch, tch. Let's go then. I think you're right. If we all die here, it won't do any good. We need to hide and wait for the right time," Agreed the Vampire in the red mask reluctantly.
As they fled from the back of the dungeon, their eyes held a mix of emotions - concern, despair, fear, and a glimmer of hope for a future where they could rise again. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"Eh, how could they leave an old oracle like me? Anyway, I'll just sit here and wait for all of this to be over. I'm old now, and I know I'll pass away one day. But let me do something for you kids, the bearers of hope," The old oracle mused with a sigh.
"Stop, all of you. Wait here. Let me help. This will be my last assistance," the Oracle declared.
"I, the Oracle, offer my remaining life to the Reaper. Using the forbidden magic of domain teleportation, I aim to safeguard these children until the day their fates intervene, " With conviction, he continued.
Slicing his hand, a drop of blood fell, and he used it to draw a magic circle on the ground. Uttering incantations in an ancient tongue, a red circle began to glow. Strange arcane symbols flowed upward from the circle, culminating in a blinding light. In an instant, they were teleported to a different domain. There, they found four coffins awaiting them. Each vampire lay down, preparing to slumber.
"Now, rest. You will awaken one by one, when the time comes to change the fate of this world," the Oracle whispered.
After employing this forbidden teleportation magic, which sent them to a domain beyond anyone's reach, the Reaper appeared before the Oracle, ready to claim the price for such powerful sorcery.
Sirena watched as they were teleported to a different domain, relieved that they were now safe. She had been locked in a fierce battle with the Vampire hunters.
"I must finish them off, I must protect this truth. No one needs to know about it." She thought, determination in her eyes.
She executed intricate gymnastic flips and spins through the air, her lithe form twirling gracefully like a seasoned acrobat. In her hands, both pistols blazed with life as she unleashed a relentless barrage of bullets.
With each pull of the trigger, bullets erupted from her weapons, seeking their targets with uncanny precision. Her aim was unerring as she targeted every Vampire hunter with deadly accuracy. She leaped, somersaulted, and rolled, seamlessly transitioning from one acrobatic move to another, leaving the hunters bewildered and struggling to keep up.
The hunters, outmatched and outmaneuvered, could only watch in awe and terror as Sirena danced her deadly ballet, ensuring their swift and final defeat.
"Did you think you could aim at me, even knowing your arrows could not touch me? Now, enjoy your rest in peace," Sirena taunted the defeated Vampire hunters.
But before she left, she paid her respects to the fallen oracle. With a solemn expression, she closed his eyes, silently expressing her gratitude for saving her team and bidding him a heartfelt farewell.
