Chapter 1186 Tying Up Loose Ends
Chapter 1186 Tying Up Loose Ends
"Hmm…"
"I guess here is fine."
After moving through the air for about half an hour, Valyr faintly nodded as he looked at his surroundings.
Whoosh!
Then, without hesitation, he deactivated his movement skill, only to conjure a small gust of wind under his feet just as he was a few meters away from hitting the ground.
Thud.
Although he felt a slight pain from having fallen from such a height, the young man endured through it as he took another look at his surroundings.
"Yeah." Pushing his perception to its limits, Valyr eventually nodded once more as he made sure that a vast wilderness surrounded him.
By the time he confirmed that neither players nor other people would catch wind of what he was doing, it was only then did the young man faintly let out a sigh of relief, conjuring a rift in front of him soon after.
Swoosh!
Seeing that the rift would directly lead him to the courtyard making up the Gates of Enlightenment, Valyr then went ahead and stepped through it, causing both him and the rift to disappear from the wilderness a few seconds later.
Fwoosh!
Appearing at the center of the Gates of Enlightenment's courtyard, the young man closed his eyes for a bit as he brought up the information he got from Vaughn regarding the inheritance's layout.
Bringing up the layout of the courtyard he was currently in, Valyr soon beelined towards the place's material cache, briefly recalling the last time he went into that place.
"Aside from the Shard of Defiance I got from the deepest parts of that cache, I've got to say that the spatial bracelet I have might be the best thing I got from there."
Glancing at the spatial bracelet he wore with a slight chuckle, the young man arrived at the entrance to the material cache a couple of minutes later, going through all of the other things he took from the cache along the way.
Once there, the barrier guarding the entrance disappeared before Valyr could move closer, causing him to chuckle for a bit before letting out a calming sigh.
With his composure regained, it was only then did the young man enter the cache, briefly reminding himself of the reason why he decided to enter the inheritance in the first place.
"Although I didn't get a close look on the equipment the last time I came here, if my memory serves me correctly, the pieces of equipment near the end of the cache are more than enough to catch Julian's eye."
Back when he was still completing forging quotas for the war, the thought of the equipment in the Enlightenment Material Cache popped up in the young man's mind. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
With that, by the time he finished one of these quotas, he went ahead and asked Julian in a roundabout way if it was possible to bring them over.
Fortunately for him, Julian more or less approved it, considering that the only problem they had with the entire thing was blacksmiths buying equipment from other blacksmiths to complete their own forging quotas.
And thus, Valyr reminded himself to head to the inheritance some time to grab those pieces of equipment and give them to Julian for him to distribute.
However, with how there were many things going on or how he was occupied by other things up to the point players arrived in Veldanyr, the young man was left with no choice but to push the thought further and further down the line.
Though, with his only remaining obligation nowadays being the management of the shop he built back in Daffors Village, Valyr had pretty much given himself more than enough time to retrieve the equipment from the inheritance.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Skipping over the section that used to contain dry goods and rations while he and others explored the inheritance, the young man eventually arrived at the section containing all of the equipment he passed through, his eyes widening at the sheer number that was available.
Grinning at the thought that he'd be able to give Julian a surprise, Valyr soon went ahead and scanned all of the equipment surrounding him with [Superior Analysis], checking to see if they matched the criteria he'd been given in the past.
Then, once he made sure the equipment matched the criteria, it was only then did he chuck it into his spatial bracelet.
Then again, it also signaled the start of his equipment grabbing spree.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
Like a steam locomotive, the speed at which Valyr grabbed the equipment from the shelves was slow at first.
However, as he slowly got into more and more of a rhythm, the speed at which equipment entered his spatial bracelet got faster and faster, causing his hands to gradually turn into a blur.
Eventually, he reached a perfect balance between speed and quality, which gave him the ability to deprive the shelves surrounding him of their equipment in just a matter of seconds.
With that speed, it only took an hour or so for the section of basic equipment to have most of its contents disappear, allowing him to approach the section of more powerful equipment with the speed he built up through the process.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Then again, with how all of the equipment in the section met the criteria Julian gave him back then, it went without saying that the speed at which Valyr moved reached greater heights than ever before, turning himself into what others might call a miniature storm.
Nevertheless, he still made sure to be gentle with the equipment he put into his spatial bracelet, reminding himself that tens of thousands of years had passed since they were last used by other people.
"Phew." In the end, it took a bit over two hours for him to clean most of the equipment sections within the material cache, a time that Valyr was pretty satisfied with.
"One cache down, two more caches to go."
After giving himself some time to catch his breath, the young man thought about heading back to the entrance at the fastest speed he could muster.
Though, before he could even push his legs to their very limits, another thought surfaced within the young man's mind, prompting curiosity to appear on his face as he conjured a rift in front of him.
"…Huh. That worked?" Seeing that the rift in front of him had the ability to send him directly to the entrance of the Gates of Ascension's material cache, the young man inwardly let out a faint sigh before stepping forward, disappearing from where he stood not long after.
"Who knew my authority in this place was more powerful than I thought?"
…
Whoosh!
By the time Valyr was finished going through all of the material caches the inheritance had to offer him, the young man did not hesitate to conjure a rift that would lead him back to where he stood.
"…Had a feeling this would be the case." Though, by the time he got out, the hurried feeling Valyr felt when he got out disappeared without a trace once he saw the sun beginning to set.
"…Damn." Bitterly smiling as he continued to watch the sky turn from blue to orange, the young man went ahead and brought up a screen in front of him to find out how much time had passed while he was in the inheritance.
In the end, he found out that almost two days had passed by in Veldanyr while he was there.
"Man." Letting out a low sigh at the answer he received, Valyr briefly thought back to how quickly he was moving by the end of his equipment grabbing spree.
"Ah, whatever." Though, after reminding himself that the time ratio between Veldanyr and the inheritance was absurd the first time he was there, the young man decided not to think about it any further, finding the fact that he'd achieved what he set out to do more important.
With that, he instead began to wonder whether or not the players were swarming his shop by now, especially after being gone from the village for two days in a row. Letting out a slight chuckle at the thought, Valyr decided to make the most of the time he unintentionally gave himself as he went ahead and activated [Flight of the Azure Dragon], heading straight to the nearest town that had a branch of the Blacksmith Guild.
After making sure he was heading in the direction of a town with the help of [Hunter's Tracking Eyes], it was only then did he bring up a screen in front of him to send a message to Julian.
Getting the feeling that even Julian would have been updated on the fact that players were appearing in droves in the villages by now, Valyr decided to stay away from the topic as much as possible, merely giving a heads-up that he was dropping by the guild for something special.
Though Julian did ask him for more information on why he was dropping by after that, Valyr was able to let out a faint sigh of relief after seeing that the man did not continue their discussion any further.
"Damn it." However, just as relief began to appear on Valyr's face, annoyance began to replace it not even a minute later as Julian sent back a message of his own, asking him a couple of questions as to what was going on back in Daffors Village.
After going back and forth between a few scenarios in his mind, the young man was forced to give a perfunctory response to him in the end before closing up his screen, letting out a long sigh the moment he did.
"…I think I'm gonna have a headache after this."
