Reincarnation into the Barrier Master

1 - Chapter I Prologue

Help me, help me, help me.

I'm Tamotsu Kubo. 34 years old. I'm 34 years old. I'm in a private bathroom. I'm in a bad situation. I'm in trouble.

I'm a programmer. I'm what you might call an IT warrior. This job is not easy.

When you get good at your job, you are forced to work on several projects, and you are always pressed for deadlines. There is no schedule that gives you any leeway (though they try to make it look that way), and you work overtime and all-nighters to keep yourself occupied. Such is the industry.

Today, I'm still struggling with a project that's on fire. And then, my desk phone rings.

"Mr. Kubo, I've reached my limit. Please let me quit."

What about the act of trying to resign with a single phone call? You may think so, but surprisingly there are many such people. But now is not a good time. The deadline for the project I am working on is tomorrow. The man on the phone is the main programmer. Without him, tomorrow's deadline will be completely missed.

There is no effective way out. I have to calm down for once. I walk into the bathroom and sigh heavily.

How the hell did this happen? What are we going to do? I need to rest. When was the last time you took a good rest? When was the last time you went home on time? I need to rest, I just need to rest. I want to go on a date with a girl. I can't get anywhere. All the girls in the office have dead eyes. What's going on? I really need someone to help me, help me, help me...

Slowly, my consciousness fades away.
