Returning From The Magic World

Chapter 90 Auction, Part 4

"Where does your friend live?" asked Arthur.

The man was a little surprised that Arthur suddenly asked. He looked at him, knowing he was in the same group as Rose, he replied, "in the far North of Scotland!"

"It's a lonely place, what does he usually do?"

"Farm and go to sea!"

"I see! Tell him to come to Vera City if he wants to buy this sword."

Arthur's words made the man hesitate, he looked at Rose, seeming to ask her opinion.

Rose replied, "he's my boss, so do as he says!"

"Alright!" The man finally nodded.

He went and made a call. After a while, he came back again and said, "he said he would go to Vera City once he had enough money!"

After saying that, the man left again.

"Boss, is it possible that his friend is?"

"Maybe" Arthur answered before Rose could finish her words. He then asked, "Have you heard of certain events in the far north of Scotland?"

Rose shook her head and replied, "unfortunately we never went there. It was indeed a lonely and uncomfortable place to live because of the weather."

"Actually I once vacationed in the area when I was your age." Amanda suddenly chimed in.

When she was Arthur's age, that would have been ten years ago.

As Arthur looked at her, she continued "of course, I didn't find anything, after all, I didn't know about magic at that time either. I think it's a beautiful place, gives the impression of Old Europe because there aren't many modern buildings."

Unfortunately what she said didn't give any information so Arthur couldn't show any reaction. Amanda laughed as she saw his face.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let's take a look at the next item." Mia who was on the stage spoke again.

The object this time was a book that looked very old, had a cross on the cover. People thought it was the Bible so many lost interest.

The people here were mostly non-religious, so an ancient Bible, even if it had some verses not found in today's Bibles, they still wouldn't be interested. If it was handed over to the pastors, it is not certain that they would accept it because some pastors do not like the controversy generated by the differences in the contents of the Old Bible and the Modern Bible.

In conclusion, it might be of great value, but not something that would interest those wealthy people. They prefer artifacts that depict the beauties of ancient times.

Mia smiled faintly as she saw people's reactions.

She took the book and opened a certain page before showing it to the people, who were immediately surprised to find two sheets of gold paper among the ancient papers.

There were small writings on both papers, which, unfortunately, were not visible because of the distance.

The people then looked at the screen which now displayed the contents of the two papers.

"Where are these letters from?" Some of them wondered when they realized the letters written on the two pieces of paper were not Hebrew or Arabic. And also not the letters they know.

"These letters are from an unknown era, so what is written here is unknown to anyone." Mia said as the people narrowed their eyes. "What's interesting is these two papers are not the only papers with these letters. At least six like them have been found. However, what is unique, each is found in different places, at the tip of Asia, in America, the Middle East, India, and even in the Indian Ocean."

"Are you serious, Mrs. Mia?" asked someone who looked very rich.

"You can look up the information, Mr. Conner," Mia replied.

Meanwhile, Amanda and Rose only scanned the screen briefly before looking up at Arthur because they knew they could only get decent information out of him.

When they looked at him, he suddenly opened his mouth. "How much are the two pieces of paper?" he asked Mia, causing her to turn her gaze to him.

She looked a little surprised because it was her friend's nephew who had just made love to her asking the question.

"Do you want it?" she asked with a faint smile, slightly surprising the others as she seemed to be offering it head-on.

Arthur knew that she was only teasing him because she had no authority here other than being an auctioneer. He replied, "I will bid on it!"

People of course started looking at Arthur strangely because he was too young. Even if his family is rich, how much money does he hold? They thought he was only here to watch.

But at the same time, Amanda spoke while raising the hand that was holding a gold card. "2 million, 3 million, or 4 million, I will pay it for my beloved man," she said with a confident smile. Even mention of her relationship with Arthur.

Amanda was recognized by several, so others quickly knew who she was when they asked those in the know.

Given her background and position in her family, her finances were beyond doubt.

Of course, they wondered what Arthur was counting on to be able to make a beautiful and rich and much older woman his girlfriend and she was so affectionate towards him that she had no qualms buying him an item worth several million euros. They think this is the first case in the world.

Some men may be lucky to have a very rich wife, but can they earn money from their wife? Unfortunately most of them still have to work alone.

"Hahaha, then what's the use of two unreadable sheets of paper?" someone asked with a laugh.

Even though the price of the book hadn't been announced, people had already guessed that it would have a high starting price.

However, even though there were many who looked doubtful, compared to that blue sword, this book had its own devotees. The men stared at Mia, as if telling her to name the price immediately.

Mia is happy with it. There may be fewer interested people, but they have deep interests, usually they don't mind paying a higher price.
