Chapter 66: Boar Beast

Chapter 66: Boar Beast

The boar beast was very large for an animal and while on all four, it was the height of an average person.

It weighed over 300kg and had a large body and head with sharp and long tusks sticking out of it. Its legs were short and stubby, but were powerful and fast considering the size of the beast.

The beast's body provided it with great offence and defence, and it had a thick layer of fur all around its body that was tinted brown and green.

"Quickly get as many people away from this area of the village as you can while I take on the beast" ordered Damian to Milo, worried for Milo and the village's safety.

Damian had no choice but to face the beast head on, if he wanted to save the villagers, and it would be hard for him to escape even if he wanted to leave the villagers to die.

Milo wanted to refute his decision, but seeing the large beast rushing towards them from the forest, Milo knew he had no chance against it and he would only be a hindrance to Damian if he attempted to help in the battle.

"Be careful and you better not die before you help me and I prove myself to you as my bro" stated Milo.

"Yes as bros we will shock the world and show our strength to the world together" declared Damian as he rushed towards the boar beast.

[Utsusu activate the Maxwell Fire Spirit] communicated Damian within his mind.

Damian had to get the boar beast away from the villagers, so without much deliberation, he dashed towards it.

His clear changeable energy began to burn and scorch as it circulated around his body.

His energy became red with a golden tint that was caused by cultivating the Golden Flame Method.

Instantly Damian could feel his power that had increased and felt more confident in his capability to defeat the beast after feeling his own power.

Flame Reinforcement

His dense flame energy was bubbling around his body as he activated Flame Reinforcement instinctively, knowing that he would have no chance against the beast without it.

With the fire energy spreading around and reinforcing his body, Damian and the boar beast were 10 metres apart.

Damian had learnt how to use Pyrokinesis and control his flames outside his body, but with his current amount of energy, it wouldn't be possible for him to use it comfortably and efficiently in battle, without training with it properly.

The boar beast sensing the energy that Damian's body had, was instantly enticed by Damian's body that was the first human that had energy, that he had come across for a while.

Each time the boar beast had come across a human with energy, they had all attempted to kill him and were sent by the academy, but it had managed to defeat them all.

Now with its hatred towards human beings that had energy within their bodies and its desperation for energy, the beast was aiming to kill and eat Damian.

Seeing the red glint of hunger and hatred that the beast had towards him, Damian was on high alert and prepared to battle.

But despite knowing he was in battle, Damian couldn't help but realise the similarity between the humans and the beasts.

The humans would kill beasts to consume their bodies and cores to strengthen themselves, while some beasts would also kill and eat humans to increase their strength.

All while both races hated each other because of all the killing that each race had caused the other, but both were fighting for the same thing.

Strength.

Both beasts and humans saw each other as monsters for killing their kind and targets to gain strength, but neither wanted to stop.

Damian realised that from the way he was raised and the way humanity spoke of beasts, they were pictured within his mind as monsters and humanity's enemy, but humans were just as bad as the beasts.

The more Damian experienced in his life, the more he realised how unfair the world really was and how the only rule that applied was survival of the fittest.

Charging wildly towards Damian, the boar thrust its almost metre-long tusks at Damian's body.

The speed of the attack surprised Damian massively as he only narrowly dodged the tusk using his explosive speed, that the Flame Reinforcement provided.

[It seems I have become the beast's target] noticed Damian.

[In that case, I can lead it away from the village] he decided, still wanting to reduce casualties despite learning about the truth of reality.

Bursting off his feet, Damian dashed towards the forest so that he could not only save the village, but also gain an edge over the boar beast.

The large beast would find it hard to manoeuvre around the dense trees and attack in the forest, while it also wouldn't be able to climb the trees, giving Damian a much needed advantage.

But in a straight line, the beast was faster than Damian who only had agility over the beast.

Fire Burst

Damian streamed large amounts of fire energy into the bottom of his feet and burst himself forwards with a small explosion beneath his feet.

The Fire Burst launched him almost 10 metres forwards rapidly, but used quite a large amount of energy as Damian continued running into the forest.

After reaching a few dozen metres into the forest, Damian turned to face the beast that was close behind him and had to weave between the tress because of its large size.

Observing the beast, Damian knew he had no chance against the beast if fighting against it using raw strength and power and he needed to use his intelligence to his advantage.

The berserker state along with the desperate state that the boar beast was currently in, reduced the beast's intelligence even more than it already was and despite granting them more strength, it would weaken their combat prowess.

Knowing that Damian saw its stubby legs, the balance of the beast and its agility as its weakness and with the trees around them, Damian felt quite confident in his ability to defeat the beast.

But even with his advantages, the beast was much stronger than Damian with its powerful defence and offence and it wouldn't be an easy battle for Damian to win.
