The Mysterious Black Magician

Now that Rea thought about it, she had yet to know anything about him. Besides his real appearance, she didn't know much about his identity.

What if she asked him? Will he tell her the truth? Or tell a lie? Or perhaps ignore her.

The longer they were together the more curious she was about him. What else Crimson was hiding? She wanted to know.

Even his abilities were very unusual. And his crimson mana gave off a different feeling. He could even kill that newly transformed demonic beast that brings trouble to the Senior Leader's group.

Although that demonic beast was newly transformed, it wasn't easy to deal with. But this man dealt with it so easily.

That spell he used in defeating it, she remembered it was the same spell used by that fish head boss monster in the Training Pavilion.

He copied it.

No doubt about it.

But how did he do it? If she was right, Crimson only saw it once. And that spell, he didn't only copy it, he even beat the original in using it.

Is he perhaps a genius in terms of magic spell? Rea asked no one but herself. She couldn't help wondering about Crimson. Especially that he looks as young as her. Even her aunt, Laura Agila, said that Crimson was the youngest Gold Rank adventurer. Also, he was the newest member of the guild.

Rea was staring at him while blinking her eyes.

Yman scratched the side of his face. He wondered what happened to this overthinker-princess. For some reason, she suddenly fell silent and now was staring at him with such a face that seemed like dissecting him. 

A chill ran down his spine as the word dissecting came to his mind. It was a commonly used word in the lab.

"Ahem!" He coughed intentionally to pull her back to her senses. It was still too early for her to be in a daze. He was successful though. Rea came back to herself and noticed she was staring at him for quite a few seconds already.

With a sign of redness on her face, "Erm…" she cleared her throat and turned away her gaze. But at the corner of her eyes, she stole glances at him. 

In a pouty face, "I-I'm just curious what kind of item that someone like you will choose besides the medicine," she said.

Upon hearing her, he touched his chin with his fingers and pondered. All of the equipment around him was 5-8 tier at most. "All of this equipment can boost my fighting capabilities. However, my only problem is that I ain't proficient in any of these weapons. At most, I can only manifest 50-70% of its real power. So I can't honestly tell you the answer you are seeking. I'll rather train my spell than learning how to wield weapons," he said honestly.

Some people were gifted by it. And some people were seriously training on it from their childhood until they were adults just to master their desired weapon. Yman, on the other hand, had nothing like that. If he had experience with wielding weapons, it was only to the degree that he was capable of swinging or shooting them.

After hearing his answer, "I-I see…" Rea said. "But… if I had to choose one of these items here, I think... I would rather choose an Artefact or jewelry to boost my defense."

Rea stared at him and wondered if Crimson wanted to become a robust person. For some reason, a muscular Crimson lifting her with his muscular build was playing in her mind.

Yman blinked his eyes in the wonder of why Rea suddenly turned red. With a "Humph!" She looked away. D-Did he says something bad? He asked himself.

A minute later, Her Majesty Empress Eleanna and Cinde came back from the other room. A smile was visible on Cinde's face but… they could not see anything on her.

Step step… she ran towards them. "Guess what I got from her highness?" She suddenly asked the two.

Yman guessed she stored it inside the spatial ring that was on her finger.

"A jewelry?"

Rea said her hunch directly.

"Nope!" Cinde replied while closing an eye and bent forward to Crimson. "How about you, Crimson?"

"..."

He was certain that he would be wrong also, but he made a thinking gesture somehow before saying his guess.

"Sigh… I couldn't think of any… perhaps it's a magical item?"

"..."

"Uhm, Crimson, there are so many kinds of magical items."

Now that he thought about it. He and Cinde and Rea too were both not the type to carry a weapon. Based on his observation about Cinde's style, she was a mage who likes spamming her spell.

If there was an item that would be much helpful for her. It would be a magic staff or wand. But, as he was stated earlier, she was not the type who carried a weapon. So magic staff and magic wand were out of the picture and any other weapon.

Besides, isn't Cinde also had that Xelestial beast? Hmm… he pondered then suddenly widened his eyes. Wait! There is that kind of item also. If he counted the perceptiveness of the empress. Perhaps, the empress gave her that kind of item but… could the empress really give it to Cinde for free? In any case, is that item even here?

They noticed Crimson's curious and skeptical face. His mouth slowly approached Cinde's ear. "I-is it a kiss?" Cinde thought with her face starting to blush and her heart was beating rapidly. A second later, Crimson whispered in her ear. "A mana stone?" Cinde sighed in defeat. Regretfully, it wasn't a kiss. "How did you know?" She asked.

"Hehe… just a guess," he grinned. But in truth, he was surprised that it was actually a mana stone!

Empress Eleanna asked Crimson for his choice. He answered directly that he only needed the medicine.

Yman noticed the frown on the empress's face. Roman and Hilion came to the empress and asked if it was fine to leave. Although they were curious about what type of item this person named Crimson Agila was going to choose, the two of them were in a hurry and had to leave. But in fact, they just wanted to grind for battle experience in order to breakthrough. 

The empress nodded, and told them that they would receive a letter about the special training.

Yman asked for the specific time, but the empress told them that after the academy competition.

Hilion and Roman left but the empress asked Crimson and Rea to stay. Cinde was skeptical to leave. But after the empress whispered to her, she snapped and also left.

However, before she left, she told him that she would become stronger. Crimson nodded and smiled at her.

He wondered what happened to her… she suddenly became so eager to become stronger.

Before she totally left, she said, "See you in the Academy, Crimson, Princess Ella," after saying those lines she waved her hand and left.

Rea nodded at her.

Yman wanted to say something but she had sprinted already. Looks like she was so excited to test the item the empress gifted her.

Empress Eleanna asked Crimson and Rea to stay a bit longer.

The empress took them to a more secluded room.
