Chapter 182: 182:The Secret World
On the isolated island, just two miles from where the tribal people had been relocated, a major operation was underway. A short ten-minute boat ride from the mainland brought workers to this busy site, now undergoing a process of construction.
Lands had been cleared and makeshift roads had been scrambled around.
The day began with large trucks arriving, heavily loaded with essential components for the project. Workers hurried to unload the equipment which included the massive fusion reactor and other critical machinery. The island's landscape rapidly transformed with the construction of sturdy access roads that were essential for moving the equipment into position.
Evan, focused and authoritative, oversaw the entire operation. He issued precise and clear commands to the crew, directing them to unload, position, and assemble the various components. The fusion reactor, a pivotal element of the project, was carefully linked to the atomic printer.
As the assembly process commenced, Evan's efficient management ensured that everything was moving according to plan. He meticulously monitored the setup, ensuring that each part was aligned and secured properly.
Big Mac, who had been observing the rapid development, approached Evan with a concerned look. "Sir, once this powers up and construction begins, I'm afraid it will draw significant attention."
Unfazed, Evan checked the calendar and responded with strategic calmness. "That's why I'm just assembling now and waiting for the 9th of March. There's a storm approaching and it will help us keep things under wraps."
With a nod from Evan, the workers continued their tasks with renewed focus.
The storm's impending arrival was a key factor in their plans, providing a natural cover for their operations. As the day progressed, the massive components of the atomic printer were assembled, bringing the intricate setup steadily closer to completion. The fusion reactor roared to life, powering the machine that would soon begin its crucial role in the project.
The construction continued under Evan's watching eyes with his team meticulously executing every action to ensure that their ambitious plan would proceed smoothly and remain hidden from any unwanted scrutiny.
Evan stood at the forefront of the massive assembly area, his gaze fixed on the atomic printer positioned beside the fusion reactor. Surrounding him were stacks of raw materials, waiting to be transformed into essential components for future projects.
"Finally, we have successfully transferred it in one piece," Evan remarked, his eyes reflecting a sense of accomplishment as he observed the atomic printer's setup.
"Now, let's power it up and commence with the crucial tasks," he declared, reaching for a cable coming from the fusion reactor and connecting it to the atomic printer, bringing the machine to life before fine-tuning a few settings with the assistance of his team.
"Let's get the parts printed," Evan instructed, turning to Aurora. Without hesitation, she immediately initiated the printing process for the components required to construct an even larger atomic printer. Once completed, this new printer would eventually produce parts for all upcoming projects.
Aurora responded promptly, increasing the fuel consumption of the fusion reactor and ramping up its energy output, ensuring that it would supply the atomic printer with the maximum amount of energy required, making sure that the printer was no longer limited by its previous constraints.
With the printer operating at full power, the process of fabricating the components began. The machine efficiently fabricated parts, churning out components within seconds, with the only delay coming from Evan, who needed to quickly remove the finished parts and feed new raw materials into the machine for a continuous operation.
His hands were in constant motion, trying to keep pace with the relentless production cycle.
Evan worked tirelessly, removing finished pieces and loading fresh materials into the printer for the next batch. For the next five hours, he was the only factor slowing down the process.
Despite this, the progress was significantly impressive: over a hundred thousand large parts and more than millions of small ones were printed. The printer's ability to produce around ten thousand small pieces simultaneously kept the production rate high.
"I truly need some rest," Evan admitted, lying down briefly to catch his breath. However, his short respite was interrupted by Aurora's announcement.
Evan felt a pang of loneliness as he remembered Suri, who had left after her vacation came to an end. The days they spent together had been a joyful reprieve, one he struggled to forget.
"I wish she was here to lend a hand."
Shaking off the nostalgia, he refocused on his work.
[Sir, if you think one printer isn't enough, why don't you assemble the others? It will fasten the process.]
Nodding, Evan called for another printer to load.
He then began setting up a second large atomic printer, connecting it to the fusion reactor.
Once everything was linked, Evan powered up the machine and instructed Aurora to initiate the printing of parts to build an even larger printer.
Their goal was ambitious: to craft a grand one for use. Honestly, the current thing was good for creating large things, but they needed something that was capable of changing the entire terrain on its own. Even if the current one was good, it wasn't enough for their vision.
The process was intensive but smooth. Aurora ramped up the reactor's energy to ensure the printer operated at full capacity. Parts were printed rapidly, and Evan worked tirelessly to manage the influx of materials.
"Everyone, help with the assembly. A voice command issue will help in joining everything correctly," Evan ordered, watching as the people lined up.
The tribals who had now been converted to modern men were infused with a great deal of knowledge. Some had become even better engineers than those who had studied for years, which made Evan wonder if this was fair to people who rub their asses off to become masters in their craft.
Coming onto…
As Evan wrapped up his tasks and prepared to enter the virtual reality world, he was startled by an unexpected sight.
"What the hell? What are you doing here?" he exclaimed, seeing Suri lying on the soft grassy floor with a teasing smile on her face.
"Surprise! Are you surprised to see me?" Suri responded with a playful grin.
Evan was bewildered. "Yeah, but how did you get here?"
Suri laughed, explaining how, despite her busy schedule, she had sneaked into the lab and met Aurora. The two had quickly become friends, and Aurora suggested the surprise.
Aurora had even said that she would connect Suri to the VR, allowing her to meet Evan. However, whether Evan was willing to show her a glimpse of this world or not was another matter.
Aurora could only help to join the two. Seeing her approach, the system in Evan's head gave her a thumbs up and praised her greatly, and that made Aurora blush.
After all, what was the system?
Something that was close to omnipotent in their eyes.
Once Suri put on the VR helmet, she was fully connected to Evan.
Realizing the setup, Evan chuckled and welcomed the surprise.
"It's a pleasant surprise. I wish you would do this more often."
Suri smiled, playfully grabbing Evan's arm with her pincers and giving him a cute pout. "Why don't you show me your secret world?"
"Of course," Evan replied with a smile, ready to share his VR experience with her.
There was no need to hide anything. After all, he had already signed a loyalty contract with her, and it was only fitting to let her take a glimpse of the future he envisioned.
