Jake decided to select a new mission right there, and apparently, he found a good place where he could build a new base. He would have some time to clear the dungeon, so he could use that to confirm that the area was good enough for him. Jake liked the cold. Most people didn't. He also needed to check if the magical plants could be raised in a cold environment… He also would need some time to build a shelter… Even if he likes cold, he couldn't sleep in the open.
Jake selected that mission without wasting time and was Teleported to the new world. Just as he had expected, he appeared in a snow-covered region. The wind was blowing quite strongly, so Jake put on his dark cloak since he didn't want to level up his Cold Resistance that fast if he had to suffer that much. He thought that he got used to cold areas and he didn't disline cold, but that one could be called balls freezing world since it was doing exaclty that pretty fast.
"There are some mountains around, so the dungeon must be in either of them," Jake thought while looking around. "There are no signs of monsters here, but… There are many trees. I can use them."
Jake didn't have much knowledge about how to build a hut. He saw some videos of survivalists, if that could… Nevertheless, instead of looking for the targets, he decided to let them find him. At the same time, he works on the hut, or at least on the basis of it, since he doesn't know if the magic plants could survive there. Some tests had to be made, but he was pretty sure it would be fine since the cold was probably because of the mana level...
"Well, I should at least build one in the mountains and far away from this starting point," Jake thought and then began to walk.
It was hard to say if Jake got lucky or unlucky, but he reached a mountain where there was no sign of monsters. He chose that one because he saw in the distance that it had a thick and dense forest, so it would be helpful to get wood and to keep his new hideout well-hidden. After crossing the forest and climbing up a few hunted meters on the mountain, Jake found an area that seemed good enough for his purposes, so he began to work. He planted a single herb and then began to chop down some trees.
In the end, it didn't take more than a day for Jake to build a hut that wouldn't fall when the first storm hit. The secret of everything was a good foundation, and while the hut was probably the most simple thing one person could have made using legos, he was satisfied. He could always upgrade it later… Nevertheless, Jake also confirmed that the magic plants could make other leaves even in that world, so he found his new base. The interior of the hut was lacking a bit, but it was good enough for a start. It protected him against the night wind, so he couldn't ask for more.
"Sometimes, I think that I am way too satisfied with simple things…" Jake thought. "In any case, no monster appeared so far, so I guess their dungeon is in the opposite direction."
In any case, Jake was confident that the mission won't be that hard since he had some time before the deadline of the mission. Not to mention, on the previous mission, he got some weapons and skills that would help him against enemies of the ice attribute.
Jake headed in the opposite direction as soon as possible as possible since it had been two days since his last fight. He could and used his skills during his day offs, but there was no better training than the real thing.
Eventually, Jake found some traces of monsters around, and he couldn't help but frown at the size of their footsteps. He was expecting some giant monsters considering that they were called frozen Grizzlies… But he didn't expect their footsteps to be half the size of his legs.
"I thought it would be a good experience to fight humanoid monsters of my size, but I guess they are at least three times bigger than me," Jake thought.
Jake still was pretty far away from the nearest mountain, which he assumed he would find their dungeon, so it was weird to see the monsters so far away from their territory when they couldn't fly and must not have much mobility considering their size and the knee-deep snow.
After walking for a while with his Flamberge and Fury Shield in his hands, Jake finally saw some monsters. As usual, they were charging at him in groups of three, and they were as big as he had imagined. Their fur was completely white, and their eyes were vicious, bloody red. However, they have some silver claws on all paws that looked like they were made of some sort of metal instead of being actually long nails…
