Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Darkseid War I



[3rd POV]

Defeat the Evil

Details - Defeat the perpetrator of the invasion...defeat...Darkseid.

'Fuck' Gwen cursed inwardly as she read through the quest. She knew something would happen with Darkseid eventually, but she didn't think it would happen so quickly, and so

soon.

'Can I even beat him? I'm immortal, yeah. But if he's anything like his comic counterpart in terms of powers, then I've got no idea how this'll go' Gwen thought, breathing in deeply. 'Not to mention the fact that the Anti-Life equation is most likely on Earth somewhere, and considering how Darkseid is, he won't stop until he gets his hands on it' Gwen thought with a sigh, knowing that this was going to be a long, and very annoying fight. The man couldn't kill her, but he sure as hell could slaughter others, AND seal her with the right materials, rituals, and situation.

'...I've got to tell the girls' Gwen thought, knowing that they would want to come and help, even if she explained how dangerous Darkseid and his Parademons are, not to mention his close followers like Granny goodness, Steppenwolf, Kalibak, and all of them. All of which she would have to fight and defeat.

She was somewhat confident in beating the likes of Granny Goodness, Steppenwolf, Kalibak, and Darkseids other elites. But Darkseid himself? That was an entirely different level, and would be much much harder to take care of. She wasn't even sure if she could kill the guy, considering he was immortal.

'Alright, let's get this over with' Gwen thought, knowing that she needed to get to that world

soon.

"What do you mean Earth is being invaded!?" Artemis yelled, jumping to her feet after hearing the news that Earth was being invaded by aliens.

"I mean, that Earth is being invaded by tens of thousands of aliens. Leading them is an incredibly powerful being that is stronger than anyone in the League, including even Superman" Gwen responded, causing the three to breathe in deeply.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

"Then we need to get there, now" Raven said, causing Gwen to sigh and nod.

"Alright, let me make a note for Korra at least, considering I am most likely about to miss her fight with Amon" Gwen responded, which they nodded at, as they began to get ready.

Walking into her room, Gwen brought out a pen and paper and began to write.

"Gonna be gone for a while, not sure how long. I've got some...important matters to deal with, involving my home. I'll be back as soon as I can. Use the teachings I've taught you well, Korra. Signed, Gwen" A simple note, but enough to not cause too many issues. It might annoy Korra, but that's all.

Seeing as the note was ready and she had already sent it off, teleportation carrying it to Korra's room, Gwen walked back out, finding the girls standing there, serious looks on their faces.

"You three ready?" Gwen asked, causing them to nod as they walked closer to her. Seeing this, Gwen breathed in 'System, bring us back to the world of Young Justice'

[Beginning multiverse travel]

As she read this, a flash of light filled the room, as the group disappeared.

[In the world of Young Justice]

...Chaos, complete and utter chaos. That was the only way to describe the world at the moment.

After Gwen had left, things had been peaceful for quite some time. With no more major villains, Luthor no longer causing issues, and the League and Team stronger than ever.

But...things changed. Whispers of an invasion spread to the Green Lanterns, who then spread it to the League. They had prepared, tried to warn the world, but no one listened... And now? Now the world was being completely dominated by the forces of another world, roughly 100,000 Parademons controlling the major cities of the world, with more and more surging in by the day. The elites of Darkseids army culling any threats too large, and Darkseid himself simply...not being there.

The League couldn't be everywhere at once, nor could they fight against being so strong constantly. So, they did their best. They used magic and science to help hide away civlians the best they could, and they fought the likes of Granny Goodness, Steppenwolf, and others the best they could. But when the elites of an army are as strong as Wonder Woman and Superman? It makes it hard to stop them.

The armies of the world couldn't do anything but try their damndest to fight off the tides of parademons that continued to surge against the world.

All the while, Lex Luthor was continuing the work that he had been ordered to begin. A plan put in place by Gwen in the off chance anything happened. With the proper materials, blueprints, and manpower to create something to help. But, said "help" could not be used until Gwen herself was there.

Hundreds of thousands, if not millions had died in the invasion so far, and it had only started a short week ago.

In Happy Harbour, in one of the last safe houses of the League, the mountain was filled with...silence. The team had just fought and failed to defeat yet another onslaught of Parademons, losing Paris in the process.

"How long can we continue like this? We're already on our last legs and it's only been a week!" Dick exclaimed, growing frustrated with how much they were struggling. Even with aura, the super soldier serum, AND the suits Gwen had produced, the group couldn't do much to stop the invasions.

"I-...I don't know. I wish I did, but for once, I don't" Kaldur replied, defeat filling his tone. "What's the League's status?" Conner asked, causing Dick to cringe slightly, before replying with a sigh.

"From what I've heard? Not good. Most of the League is running on fumes, and the other half is struggling to deal with the sheer amount of forces" Dick responded, causing Conner to

groan.

"This would be way easier if Gwen was here"

[Outside, at the same time]

*SWOOSH*

After beginning the multiverse travel, the group of four reappeared in a flash.

'Upgrade them into NL and use them' Gwen thought with no hesitation. While she felt her power in darkness rapidly grow stronger and stronger, thanks to the Darkness devil. Same

with her power of fear.

[NL Characters - Dulio Gesualdo (DxD), Charlie Morningstar (Hazbin Hotel), Vritra (DxD)]

Blinking at the three characters, Gwen felt the new power flood her being, the light power of Dulio being the most prevalent. Dulio being an angel, Charlie a demon, and Vritra a Dragon. The assimilation process didn't take long, and the girls still recovering from the transportation, didn't seem to notice as the weather changed slightly, reacting to her new sacred gear Zenith Tempest, which specialized in controlling elements and weather. A powerful sacred gear, and a "Longinus".

Longinus being the strongest of the sacred gears, and her new one, was said to be the second

strongest due to it's potential.

Looking to the girls, Gwen asked "Are you all okay?"

"Mmhmm, just hard to get used to that" Artemis muttered, sighing as she shook off the

nausea she felt.

"Where are we?" M'gann asked, as she heard a soft gasp escape Raven.

"...What happened?" Raven asked, as they all looked and went wide eyed, as they stared down

at what looked to be Happy Harbour, but flying above it was several beings, and the city itself was smoking as half of it was complete and utter ruins.

"Gwen? Is that you?" A voice sounded out, causing Gwen to turn, standing there was Dick, Conner, Kaldur, Wally, Zatanna, and Rocket.

Looking at the destruction that had cracked Happy Harbour in half...literally, with a large crack running through the city, Gwen looked at them, and asked the most important question

at this moment.

"What the hell happened?"

This arc is going to be slow going, and will probably last 7-10 chapters or so. And will span

over 1 to 2 weeks time.

Next chapter will have talks, and her finally using her intelligence.

The big final battle won't be happening just yet.
