The civil unrest within the City of Daughters had, thankfully, concluded after the battle with Hua Cuican.

Although the Hua Clan was bitter with resentment, they didn’t dare protest, for the Goddess’ word was gospel. And as the waters of the Goddess’ river flowed within them, protesting against Her words would lead to death.

However, this didn’t stop the Hua Clan members from complaining about the closure of the Goddess’ Grotto.

“The christening at the spring is indeed impressive. With its aid, I transcended Spirit Cultivating Eighth Realm and even catalysed the fission of the gold-type Yuan seed. I can’t believe the demon realized I was using Five-Elements Cultivation. This technique is essentially useless in its beginning stages, and its true potential will only be uncovered after the user reaches the mythical Transcendence Realm. Who knows if there even are any martial artists in Tianwu Kingdom who has reached Transcendence Realm. But I will reach Transcendence Realm, and I will uncover the secrets and hidden power of the Five-Elements Cultivation.”

Above Spirit Devour Realm was Transcendence Realm!

“Ling’er has never heard of the Five-Elements Cultivation. Yet the demon knew of it, so maybe it is a technique with demonic origins,” Ling’er pondered.

“Ling’er, just then, you emerged from my body and even defeated the demon. Does this mean you can exit my body at your own will now?” Ye Mo asked as he recalled the scene at the grotto.

“Correct, but I can only do so for a short amount of time. When I absorbed the Spirit Energy of the demon, my spirit was partially repaired, allowing me to remain outside of your body for a short while. But I can’t do that anymore,” Ling’er said dejectedly.

“Hm, I suppose this marks the end of the civil unrest in this city. But my order to seal off the Goddess’ Grotto is likely to cause dissent among the higher-ups. Cai Ling may still be the head of state, but that title technically belongs to me now because of the Goddess’ Oath.” He sighed. “I guess I’ll just have to play the right cards to ensure their loyalty to Cai Ling.”

Ye Mo fell silent as he contemplated the threat that was the demon residing within the Goddess’ Eternal Spring. He couldn’t reveal the truth, and if any unsuspecting victim ventured into the Grotto for the christening, they might fall prey to the demon’s trap.

Ling’er wagged her finger, saying, “Silly, silly you! With your current abilities, you can easily craft a few Energy Seals and place an Energy Formation upon the training quarters of the City of Daughters. And with that, those pesky higher-ups shouldn’t trouble you anymore. The Energy Formation may not be as powerful as the christening, but an Energy Formation is practical and its powers undisputed; the christening can’t even compare.”

“Energy Formation? I heard these things can collect and condense the Yuan Chi of heaven and earth, resulting in a perfect space for training efficiently,” Ye Mo said, surprised. He had heard about Energy Formations from Ye Qing, who attributed the reason behind the large difference in abilities between the children of large, well-off clans and the children of smaller clans to these formations.

“Correct. Ling’er shall teach you how to create an Energy Formation that will shut all the non-believers up. Ling’er also knows what you’re thinking: that these people will form the cornerstone of your future rebellion against the Emperor,” said Ling’er.

“You read my mind.” Ye Mo smiled wryly. Frowning slightly, he said, “But I’ve seen Energy Formations in the city, and on top of that, there are quite a number of sealing artists in the city. I’m afraid those crones won’t be easily convinced.”

“Bah, the seals they craft are little more than garbage. Energy Seals crafted using fire-type Yuanli can only be harnessed by fire-type users, and those made with wood-type Yuanli can only be used by wood-type users. Don’t you agree that this is a waste of precious resources? Ling’er will teach you how to craft seals that allow anyone of any nature to harness it, and additionally, these seals will be big enough to host many people,” said Ling’er smugly.

As a deity-level charm spirit, her skills were no less than that of deity-level sealing artist.

“Good. I’m ready to learn!”

The Energy Seal Ling’er was going to teach Ye Mo was a form of five-elements technique. The universe was composed of the five core elements; even rarer types like ice, thunder, or poison all originated from the five. By combining the five elements and creating a seal using that power, the resultant Energy Formation could then accommodate martial artists of any type.

Not wanting to disappoint, Ye Mo immediately prepared some five-element heart-stones, and using his masterful wood element, he began to make the seals.

For three days, Ye Mo crafted seals in isolation. When he finally emerged from his workroom, he reeked of sweat, yet shining through the dirt stains on his face was a proud grin.

“My original plan was to craft six five-element seals in three days. Yet I managed to make 10 of them. Surely 10 of these seals will be enough to sway their hearts.”

Ye Mo made his way to the palace.

At the palace were crowds upon crowds of women, whose powers all exceeded that of Ye Mo’s. If one was to be randomly selected and placed in a fight with Ye Mo, she could easily overpower him.

Sitting on her throne, Cai Ling’s face remained calm and neutral. Standing on either side were members of Hua and Liu Clans, who seemed to be in the middle of a discussion.

“Governor Cai Ling, Ye Mo represented Liu Clan, defeated Hua Cuican, and gained the seat of Governor. With his potential, we can see him bearing the title of Governor with some training. But his attitude is simply terrible! How could he seal off the Goddess’ Grotto? Does he plan to claim it as his own? As citizens of the City of Daughters, we are all entitled to the christening at the Goddess’ Eternal Spring.”

“Yeah, even seniors like us have the right to be christened.”

“Is that all you have to say?” Cai Ling said once the disgruntled voices in the palace have faded.

“Governor Cai Ling, why are you always on Ye Mo’s side? Is there something going on between the two of you?”

“Insolent brat!” Cai Ling snapped. She continued, “If I hear anyone say anything like that next time, they will be punished accordingly by execution.”

“There’s no next time! Off with her head!” Ye Mo said coolly as he sauntered into the palace.

His voice reverberated through the entire area. Shock adorned the faces of the crowd as they marveled at the sheer audacity of their new Governor.

“Ye Mo, such an air of authority you command.”

A woman in her fifties slowly approached him. Her name was Yang Wangqiu, one of the key members of the Hua Clan, and her powers were in True Energy Realm.

“Impertinent woman, who gave you the right to call the Governor by name? You are no elder of the city, nor have you contributed to the city. What made you decide that you are allowed to do so?” Ye Mo said icily.

Hua Clan did not recognize his right to the seat of power and clearly held much resentment. He would make sure that they yielded.
