The Mysterious Black Magician

A loud rumbling took everyone's attention by surprise. It was coming from Destroyer. The big guy from Kiko's party. He ended up his opponent after transforming into a Minotrent. A high-ranking beast.

After defeating his opponent, he reverted to his original human self. Then walked casually down the stage as nothing happened. After stepping down the stage, he smirked at Bob, who was still in shock of the fight, then sneered at Yman. He opened his mouth. "A weakling and a Toadling, hehe," he jested. "Pffffft," But soon he knitted his brows when he heard a chuckle from the Toadling he was calling. The chuckle was unexpected to him. This toad who used to be afraid of them had the guts to laugh now. He stared coldly at Yman.. It was the kind of stare that wanted to chew him alive. 

The idiot probably thought that he was strong enough after defeating their friend Bruno. Thanks to that person so much dependent on his wind ability, he learned least compared to the rest in the group.

"If you want a fight, I'll give you a fight that you will never forget," he declared a challenge on Yman.

But Before Yman could say something, Bob's interjection came ahead of him. "Oi, are you so afraid of me that you wanted to challenge someone else and mot me, huh!?"

Bob suddenly interjected in a loud voice. Bob knew it was not easy after watching the fight just now, but he disliked being looked down upon by these people. Chloe and all the members of Bob's party frowned while looking at the big man in front of them. Even Almina and Maena also did.

 "Bert!" Suddenly they heard a not-so-loud call, but it was enough for all of them to hear it. There was a coldness in his voice. When they looked at where it came from, they saw Kiko was staring at them with cold eyes.

"Let these fools think that they have a chance to win in this competition…" Kiko added. As he was saying it, his eyes darted from Yman to Almina. "I have decided that none of them shall win in this competition," he declared. He did not care if the other members of the Elite class heard him. Or if he sounded arrogant to them. His main goal was always to reach the top. So, he did not care if he sounded like he was challenging everyone in this competition. It was the truth. They are welcome to try to defeat him if they can. 

"Ha-Ha, big words! I will wake you up from that lucid dream of yours, Mr. Ego." One of the demihumans laughed and reacted to Kiko. "You are welcome to try," Kiko replied with a smirk.

Yman forced a soundless laugh at Kiko's remarks. He thought, maybe Kiko lost his head. Now he is making enemies to all the trainees here.

The big guy named Bert returned to Kiko's side. After his match, another pair came up on stage. But they were disqualified for failing to defeat their opponent before the time limit. It was followed immediately by another pair. The fight only lasted for a minute. The trainee won by luck.

The next pair who will be going to fight was unexpectedly the smiling guy, Keremi. "Good luck, Kereboy, don't die!" Bob cheered on him. "Haha, thanks…" he said as replied to Bob. Then he glanced at Yman. "My Prince, I will go first…" he said when he passed by on Yman. Then the two of them bumped the back of their hands.

"Mhm!" Yman nodded. "Good luck," he whispered. To all the trainees, only on Keremi that Yman was more curious. He never once saw him in a tight spot from the training and fight he had before.

All the audience fell silent once again when they saw the next competitors.

After a few seconds, a lonely gush of wind passed by the stage. The fight only lasted for 3 seconds. Keremi ended his opponent in a blink of an eye.

It was also recorded as the fastest match to finish and beat Yman's 4 seconds when he won against Bruno.

After Keremi's win, the other students from the Elite class thought that it would be cooler if they won in a shorter time too. With this in mind, they tried to follow his lead. Thanks to it, the elites created a new trend. They finished their fight in a much shorter time.

Though it was unfortunate for the non-elite trainees. They had to suffer a quick loss. Because of the fear that they would experience the same ending as the others, most of the lower section trainees who happened to face a member of the elite class chose to distance themselves right after the signal to start the fight.

However, even if they ran away, they were still defeated in an instance. The disparity in magical and physical power was just too wide. So in the end, it was unfortunate to them. Even the audience started to feel pity for those trainees. However, seeing the trainees from the elite class showing off their power, made the audience boiled in excitement.

Even Maena also followed the trend. He shot her enemy using the upgrade version of her Arrowbite technique. Three arrows flew towards her enemy, who couldn't decide if he charged in or ran away from her.

As a person who was using a sword as the main weapon, he should be fighting her in melee combat, however. Because of the trend, he found himself unable to move. He could not decide what action best to take in his situation.

In the end, it was too late already when he decided. Three arrows pierced his body and took all his health points in the green bar that could be seen in the large monitor.

She defeated her opponent in just 2.5 seconds. Because of it, she was now the record holder for the competitor who finished her opponent in the shortest time.

"Congrats, Maena," She was taken aback when Yman congratulated her when she came back in the waiting hall. She even saw him still clapping his hand.

"I-It— hah!" Maena was flustered for a second. She wanted to say that there was nothing to congratulate her for as it was an easy fight. But she decided to not say it. "Nevermind!" She said then look away with a smug face.

"....."

Yman wondered if she was mad at him. He just wanted to congratulate her. Looks like this girl was still as cold as before huh. Maybe Maena still dislikes him. He thought.

Maena turned her face away from him. Then, she faced Almina, who was standing beside Yman. "Beat it if you can…" she said at her.

"....."

Right after saying it, the next pair was selected. And it was unexpectedly Almina!
