Chapter 276: True Colors
Chapter 276: True Colors
Minos chuckled at himself, watching Johnson get out of his armor. The sand was slowly coming off from him, while he still laid there with his eyes open.
"You better be ready for your next opponent," Johnson whispered. "He's going to be too much to handle."
"I think I can make this much," Minos said. "After all, I beat you."
"He's not handicapped, remember that," Johnson said. "Close the gap between you and him. His powers rely on range and mana."
"Thanks," Minos smiled and helped the Guardian get up. When Johnson was standing, the crowd boomed with cheers. He waved his hand as he got out of the ring, going back to the crowd.
"And now, for the final round" Irv trailed off. "We will have a battle between our Division A and Division B Champions. They will clash and show each other the power of their guilds."
"Is everyone ready?" Zia asked, hovering around the coliseum to garner enough cheers.
While the hosts were delaying the attention of the crowd with their short comical skits and their segways, healers were tending Minos. They healed him, replenishing his HP and MP while he takes on a new enemy.
This was going to be challenging for him. He does not rely on his MP much unless he goes with his armor version again, but his stamina, that was something that was crucial to him. And it was almost depleted.
He can't just ask healers to replenish his stamina since they could not do it. He needed time for his stamina to get back on track, but time isn't something he could afford right now.
They were instructed by the hosts to go inside the ring not long after. Minos stood in front of Daniel who looked like he didn't battle three people just now. He was still in a good condition, even grinning like he wasn't tired at all.
"Remember, this round will have a time limit of thirty minutes. Maximize that time," Zia said.
Irv nodded in agreement, "If your opponent does not surrender, and the time has ended, the basis for the winner will be the damage caused by one Champion to the other. The one with the highest damage shall win the round."
The two Champions assumed an offensive stance as they waited for the bell to ring. Minos counted in his mind, "Three, two one, ring."
And it did. The bell rang, prompting the two Champions to clash.
Just like what Johnson had told him, Daniel would try his best to widen the gap between them. His attacks relied on distance, and if Minos would be close to him, he would have a hard time figuring out a way for his attack.
Minos took a deep breath and rushed to where his opponent was. It was hard getting closer when Daniel had paper swords storm around him like a vortex. He was also floating, making it even harder for Minos to come.
"Paper Dance!" Daniel extended his arms in front of him. Half of the swords that surrounded him had all rushed to where Minos was.
The man had to cover the head of his mallet with electricity and slam it right on the wooden platform, creating a wave if electricity that cancelled the paper attack. The odds are highly against him.
Minos needed to close the gap, but he couldn't do it. Daniel was making sure that he couldn't reach him by putting up a shield around him.
"Should I use it?" Minos asked himself. He was now contemplating whether to use the armor he just used against Johnson.
His MP was enough to last for a few minutes, but he wasn't so sure about his stamina.
While Minos's was in deep thought, three large swords made of paper had reached him. The swords slammed themselves against Minos all at once, making the man shield himself with his mallet and grunting at the force of the impact.
Even when they were made of paper, their durability was outstanding. They could match up with a metal mallet that had electric support.
"He is something to be feared," Minos whispered to himself. He pushed the swords away and took a few steps back. With a swinging of his mallet, Minos conjured his turtle shield. The electric current traveled all the way to his body but vanished when a paper sword pierced his back.
The crowd was silent and the people felt a cold wind pass through.
"A-And that is the end of r-round four" Irv announced as he joined the speechless crowd.
Minos fell to his knees and down to the ground, Daniel walking over to him and stepping over his back. "Well, that was fairly easy. I thought your armor could withstand my shield."
"We need a healer!" Zia yelled. "Healers, please"
Before she could even finish, a figure had gone inside the ring. Aquarius raised his hand and let George run to him with a jug of water in his hands.
"Excuse me, this is a violation. This could"
"Shut up," Elliot cut Daniel off. "The round was declared over, meaning we're not interfering any match."
Daniel scoffed and showed puppy eyes, "But Mr. Elliot, I was just playing."
Everyone gasped when Daniel conjured a paper sword. He let the sword hover in front of him while his face was stoic, "I was just playing around. Like this"
Daniel threw his arms out, making the sword shot towards Aquarius who was busy healing Minos. The sword didn't reach the man as Elliot had appeared right behind Aquarius before the sword could even reach him.
Elliot flicked his wrist and blocked the paper sword, activating Hasty Aspire to slice it into pieces.
"Mr. Elliot"
Daniel stopped. He couldn't talk. Two swords, a spear and a staff was being directed at his neck. George tapped his sword on his shield as he stood in front of Aquarius. The Azure Scorch team surrounded Daniel with nothing but anger in their eyes.
"Playing?" Elliot scoffed. "You stabbed a man, and you think you're playing?"
"Mr. Elliot, I can explain"
"Shut up!" Ed yelled. He touched his sword at Daniel's neck and muttered, "Nullify."
The boy's face melted and his body twitched. Everyone had to back away as his whole body started to melt like wax.
"What is happening?" Elliot gasped.
Daniel was now the woman who threatened the Vulture Torch Guild. Her disguise was now off and she was being shown for her true colors.
"How did you even know?" she turned to Ed, eyes glaring at him. "Was my act too rude?"
A woman walked inside the ring with a metal handcuffs in her hand. Miranda trailed her fingers over the symbols of the handcuffs, flashing right in front of the woman and slamming her knee on her stomach. "You are arrested for murder, attempted murder, and disguising yourself as a contestant in order to wreck terrorism in the kingdom."
